Sega has announced that Sonic Generations will hit the Nintendo 3DS on November 22nd in North America and November 25th in Europe.three weeks after it hits PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. This will be the first Sonic game for the system, and is also a part of Sega's celebration of Sonic's 20th anniversary.
Sonic Generations will let players shift between the classic two-dimensional side-scrolling of 90s Sonic titles and the flashier, speedier playstyle of the modern 3-D games. The 2-D sections star a short, pudgy, older version of Sonic while the contemporary levels allow you to control the lanky, green-eyed Sonic of today. The 3DS version of Sonic Generations, developed by Dimps (Sonic the Hedgehog 4, Sonic Rush), will feature an entirely different set of levels than the console versions, though you’ll still be able to swap dimensions.
